A re-imagined cottage: an architect designed contemporary house extension bordering The Peak District National Park

As the design architect for this project, the brief was to create a modern extension that contrasts the existing cottage, preserving the integrity of the historic building.

The project is a two-storey side extension with a new outbuilding to match. The striking use of metal cladding was driven by the historic railway use of the cottage and nearby preserved control shed outbuildings.
